Kimberley Jade Harris was born at Ipswich in 1988, daughter of Stuart Harris and his wife Michaelina I. née Harris, who married in Ipswich in 1987. Kimberley studied Art & Design at Colchester Institute 2005-2007 obtaining a B.Tec National Diploma before working as a commission artist and is also the holder of a Certificate in Marketing. A switch from watercolour to oils was inspired by a local artist David Porteous-Butler who introduced her to the palette knife, adding another signature style which gives depth and texture to her botanical subjects. Kimberley's style and inspiration has developed through a palette knife technique with oils and growing up in the Suffolk countryside with her oil paintings capturing the essence and atmosphere of a location, from the haunting darkness of forgotten and crumbling buildings to an English meadow bursting with colour with emphasis on colour and the effects of shadows and light.
